Nrusingh Tarai’s poems have an unusual freshness & vividness & clarity about them. And thus he is apolitical. And there is an aura of magic when he captures, in apposite vocabulary, the urban & semi-urban vignettes. There emerges a vision, not uncluttered, of a writer wrestling with the medium to achieve an echo of pain & reconciliation, jubilation and freedom. Above all, he is eminently readable.

About the Author

Nrusingh Tarai (1971) was born in Kendrapara, Odisha. From very early days he was drawn towards poetry. His idiom is simple but replete with energy. There is a deep underlying current of humanistic strain in his poetry. His published Odia poetry collections are – Sabda Taranga (2004), Gum Khaye Mati (2015), Andharara Aarapakha (2017) and Aakasare Megha Nahi (2020). He can be contacted at nctarai@gmail.com.
