About the Author

Chittaranjan Chiranjit, an avid storyteller by passion and a prolific journalist by profession, writes short stories and novels in Odia with a little more inclination towards novel writing. His award-winning first novel ‘CELL’, based on new-age voyeurism, depicts the psychological complexities of youth. However, he has received much more laurels for his second novel, ‘Yoddha’, based on the real-life plight of malnourished children of Nagada, a tribal hamlet in Jajpur district. A perfect blend of fact and fiction, this book offers a deep insight into the lives of tribal people and their problems. With six novels and six short story books to his credit, he is one of the most promising writers in contemporary Odia Literature. Three of his novels have been adapted into plays staged by the famous Drama Institutions of the State. His writings delineate human suffering and survival through hope, despair, and societal transformation.His literary works have touched every aspect of human life, from the stark reality of a life filled with psychological dilemmas to a fleeting dream of touching the sky, from social upheaval to cultural degradation.Chittaranjan is also associated with the Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Akademi of Letters, as a member of the Odia Advisory Board.

Sanjeet Kumar Das: Born in the Kendrapada district of Odisha, Sanjeet Kumar Das is a poet, translator, and educationist. His poetry collection, Asima Jeevan, was published in 2021. His translation works include Dr Narayan Sahoo’s And the Wretched (2023) and Bewildered God (2023), Dr Niladri Bhusan Harichandan’s Salabega and Columbus (2023), Shankar Tripathy’s Nabakalebar (2024), Shankar Prasad Tripathy’s Waiting for Ramachandra and Sunya Purush, Dr. Bijoy Kumar Satapathy’s Soul of Kansa and Kokua (2023) Dr. Bijay Mishra’s play Niranjana (2023) and Dr. Ratnakar Chaini’s play That Chanakya Lives (2023), Harihar Mishra’s Demeaned Gajapati (2024) and Kunja Ray’s Invincible Kharavela (2024). He has published one edited book, A Translingual Voyage: Select Indian Writings in English Translation. He works as anAssistant Professor at the Department of English Language and Literature, Central University of Odisha, Koraput.
