About the Author
A poet with natural flair for romanticism Dr. Phani Mohanty (born January 25, 1944) appears delightfully different for his unpretentious portrayal of passion that forms the base of romanticism. If he continues to retain his popularity among poetry lovers even after half a century of ecstatic literary run it’s because of the subtlety in the mainstream of his poetry where the reader sees a soft appeal packaged differently in every new poem he writes. This poetic freshness as reflected in his twenty-five published poetry collections has won him many laurels from leading institutions including State and Central Sahitya Academies and several other literary organizations. His works have been translated in English, Hindi and other regional languages. A teacher of philosophy Dr. Mohanty taught in leading Odisha colleges before taking charge as Deputy Director of Public Instructions. He lives in Bhubaneswar after superannuation as DDPI.
