From her early days in Odisha to living a lifetime in America, she remained deeply connected to the traditions of her native land. Through her passion for music and drama-especially the rich classical forms of Champu and Chand-she nurtured a love and pride for Odia culture among the younger and older generation of Odia’s residing in North America.

The book is divided into three sections. Part 1: An Abiding Legacy details her life growing up in Odisha, followed by arrival in America in the early seventies. Part 2: A Life in Pictures shares candid moments from her life that help the reader see and experience the charm and enigma of nani and her ever supporting spouse Sri Saradindu Misra.
